IEAT has accelerated GHG mitigation by development of Public-Private network in Industrial Estate



Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), with its’ target of 2.5 million kgCO2e within 5 years (2021-2025), or 500,000 kgCO2e per year of greenhouse gas emission reduction, has been creating a cooperative network among government agencies and private sector to support and promote resource management to achieve a circular economy.


There are activities under the project on going, such as:

  • Bangchan Industrial Estate: Installation of solar rooftops at office buildings, Recycling of unusable materials & waste, and encouraging all factory to prepare Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO)

  • Bangpoo Industrial Estate & Laem Chabang Industrial Estate: Installation of solar rooftops on office buildings.

  • Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate & Map Ta Phut Industrial Port: Installation of Solar PV System within the area.

IEAT and Prime Industrial Energy Company Limited (PIE), the Joint venture company between IEAT and a private company, held a training seminar for entrepreneurs to create a network of energy cooperation for reducing GHG in industrial estates, as well as encouraging the use of renewable energy, and modifying machinery & equipment for energy savings. aiming to be Green Industrial Estate.


There are more than 50 participants, including representatives from the factories in Lat Krabang Industrial Estate, Bang Chan Industrial Estate, and Anya Thani Industrial Estate participated in the seminar, and IEAT expected that they could raise awareness for entrepreneurs to upgrade the efficiency of GHG management as well as transition to renewable-based energy.
