Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) or TGO has organized an event to launch the Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER) with a high-quality standard (Premium T-VER) on October 4th, 2022, as an option for project developers who want to develop projects according to the requirements of international standards.
TGO, the main agency on development and implementation of greenhouse gas reduction projects and supporting all sector to reduce GHG emissions, has developed a Thailand Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER) since 2014. Currently, there are 310 projects with 10.59 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year that are expected to be reduced or stored, registered as T-VER projects in total.
TGO developed and upgraded the standard of the T-VER project to Premium T-VER, for High Quality Credits that adhere to Core Carbon Principles (CCPs) and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to provide an option for developers or organizations. Amount of greenhouse gases that can be reduced or stored from the project, called ‘Thailand Certified Emission Reduction’ or ‘TCERs’. TCERs are valid for use as carbon offsets, publish a corporate carbon footprint, including international carbon credit trading.
