MONRE convenes 753 local administrative organizations to manage hazardous waste in communities



Due to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) has the National Environmental Management Policies and Guidelines to upgrade abilities and skills of Local Administrative Organizations (LAOs) to solve the pollution problem. Pollution Control Department (PCD) together with Department of Local Administration (DLA), develop a community hazardous waste management model for Local Administrative Organizations (LAOs) and Management Guideline, which will be used in the management of hazardous waste from the community.


DLA will announce a policy to manage hazardous waste according to the community hazardous waste management model for local administrative organizations proposed by the PCD as a part of supporting local government organizations in implementation of the proper management of hazardous waste from the community.


PCD has scheduled a meeting “Propelling the community hazardous waste management model for local administrative organizations” for the operators and related officers, consisting of

-Department of Local Administration

-Provincial Office of Local Administration, 76 provinces

-Provincial Administrative Organizations, 76 provinces

-753 Local Administrative Organizations selected across the country

-Office of the Decentralization to the Local Government Organization Committee

-Department of Health

-Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment, 76 Provinces


5 meetings are scheduled in 5 regions, starting from the Eastern & Western, the Central, Northern, Northeastern and Southern Provincial Groups
