On May 30, 2024, Mr. Vilas Chalaysat, Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, attended the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Joint Development Project for Smart City and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Between Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA). There were executives from both agencies joining in the honor at the ceremony.
The Governor of MEA revealed that MEA will support the use of environmentally friendly technology and energy to develop a model for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The Governor of Bangkok revealed that BMA has a policy to develop Bangkok as a Capital of Solar Cells. Consequently, BMA has prepared the Bangkok Energy Action Plan in accordance with the Bangkok Master Plan on Climate Change 2021-2030.
