On February 22nd, 2023, Mr. Jullapong Thaveesri, Director General of the Department of Industrial Works (DIW), along with representatives from DIW, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan (MOEJ), and enterprises in Thailand, participated in a Technical Consultation Meeting in the Project on Enhancement of Industrial Waste Management in Thailand under Bilateral Cooperation between DIW and MOEJ.
Since 2016, Thailand has cooperated with Japan for implementing a project under the MOC for Enhancement of Industrial Waste Management in Thailand, which was renewed on April 20th, 2022. DIW and MOEJ held a meeting to discuss and share knowledge between DIW staff and a Japanese expert continually.
On November 11, 2022, DIW and MOEJ held the 1st technical consultation, with three main topics: (1) soil and groundwater contamination; (2) lithium-ion battery recycling; and (3) recycling standards for used PV systems.
