On May 7, 2026, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) along with relevant officials and Representatives from General Environmental Conservation Public Company Limited (GENCO), attended a meeting of the Oversight and Monitoring Committee for the Samae Dam Industrial Waste Management Center and the Environmental Conservation Research and Development Center in Ratchaburi Province. The meeting aimed to review operational progress.
The DIW has formally contracted GENCO to provide industrial waste treatment and disposal services. This includes the Samae Dam Industrial Waste Management Center, which focuses on the physico-chemical treatment of both hazardous and non-hazardous industrial wastewater, and the Environmental Conservation Research and Development Center in Ratchaburi Province, which manages the landfilling of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. To enhance industrial waste management efficiency, GENCO proposed a renovation and development plan on July 25, 2025 [2]. Following revisions, the plan received official approval from the DIW on September 26, 2025. [3]
GENCO and the DIW have held regular meetings to report on the progress of these initiatives. During this latest meeting, GENCO representatives reported the success of four key projects: [4]
Sludge Management Efficiency Enhancement Project for the wastewater treatment system.
Solar Panel Installation Project for the sludge management building.
Smart Firefighting System Installation Project (Samae Dam), including emergency water tankers.
Smart Firefighting System Installation Project (Ratchaburi), including emergency water tankers.
Additionally, the committee discussed the demolition of the stabilization pond building, which was damaged by a fire on September 15, 2025 [5]. The discussions aimed to ensure all actions strictly comply with the lease agreement and legal rights.
