The Department of Climate Change and Environment, in collaboration with Thammasat University, organized a Focus Group meeting from July 31 to August 1, 2025, to discuss the (draft) guidelines for Thailand's greenhouse gas emission reduction transition under NDC 3.0.The meeting was chaired by Dr. Phirun Saiyasitpanich, Director General, and over 200 representatives from both public and private sectors, including key agencies and supporting organizations participated in the meeting.
The objective of this meeting was to gather opinions and suggestions on the draft guidelines for greenhouse gas reduction across four main sectors, i.e., energy and transport, waste, industrial processes and product use, and agriculture. This meeting is crucial for defining clear directions and preparing the country for its greenhouse gas reduction efforts.
The guidelines developed from this Focus Group meeting will be an essential tool to help both public and private sector agencies efficiently transition towards the NDC 3.0 targets. They will also serve as the foundation for developing the national Greenhouse Gas Reduction Action Plan (NDC Action Plan) in the future. [1]
