Updated: Aug 16, 2023

On June 22, 2022, The National Energy Policy Council (NEPC) approved to purchase 100MW of power electricity at the rate of 6.08 baht/unit (excluding the Fit Premium rate) from the Very Small Power Producer (VSPP) as per Feed-in Tariff (FiT) in 2022 (SCoD is scheduled by 2026), This is in line with the Thailand’s Power Development Plan 2018 – 2037, Revision 1 (PDP2018 Rev.1), under which Thailand plans to increase electricity production from clean energy.

The NEPC assigned the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to set up regulations, announce, supervise and select power electricity procurement from industrial waste in the Feed-in Tariff (FiT). NEPC will assign Committee on Energy Policy Administration (CEPA) to consider the condition (except the purchase rate), if necessary.

In addition, NEPC has a resolution to exclude Three Electricity Authorities’ Projects & Plans in accordance with the energy reform plan to continue to develop infrastructure and provide efficient service for power electricity users in 2565 from consideration by the relevant agencies
