Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) with Wallbox Chargers SL, a partner from Spain, installed “Supernova,” under the brand Wallbox, as the first smart DC quick-charger in Asia at Khun Sai Chol Coffee Shop, EGAT 50th Anniversary Building, EGAT Headquarters in Nonthaburi Province.
The Supernova charger can supply up to 60 kW of power to charge battery in full within 15 minutes, which make enable to driving 100 km. Efficiency in energy utilization reaches to 98% of power charging and compatible with all types of charging connectors for EV in the market. EGAT tested to charge with three different EV cars, i.e., Nissan LEAF, Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV whose charging connector type is CHAdeMO and Audi e-tron whose charging connector type is CCS2 and found the Supernova charger meet with the safety standard and does not impact on EV system. EGAT has a plan to install the Supernova chargers at EleX by EGAT charging stations in many areas and provide service via the EleXA application. Moreover, EGAT will sell this charger to parties or people who are interested within the third quarter of this year.
* CHAdeMO is a DC Charging connectors type, which the DC maximum speed of Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is 22 kW and Nissan LEAF is 50 kW. CCS2 is a Combined Charging connectors type, which the DC maximum speed of Audi e-tron is 120-150 kW.
