On May 16, 2023, Mr. Jullapong Thaveesri, Director General of the Department of Industrial Works (DIW) attended a Working group meeting, as a chairperson, to propose the landfill for non-hazardous waste or unusable materials (factory type 105 in accordance with the Factory Act) would be one of the Industrial Type applicable for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning. This will improve the governance of non-hazardous waste or unusable materials landfill management.
Participants, including the director and officials from the Industrial Environmental Technology Promotion Division, officials from the Industrial Waste Management Division and the Legal Division discussed various issues in the meeting,
